QUICK FAQ
Some quick answers before you get started.
MANI NPR is a stylized shading and look development toolkit for Blender. It brings together shading, linework, normal controls, textures, masks, patterns and finishing effects in one addon, so you can experiment with different NPR looks without building everything from scratch.
MANI NPR was developed and tested with Blender 5.2.2 LTS. Other Blender versions may work, but they haven't been officially tested, so full compatibility isn't guaranteed.
MANI's stylized shader looks require the EEVEE render engine because they use Blender's Shader to RGB node, which isn't supported in Cycles.
Start with an editable look preset or develop your own style using the controls in the MANI NPR panel. Adjust shading, outlines, patterns and other effects as you go. The presets are starting points, not fixed looks.
No. The main artistic controls are available directly in the addon interface, so you don't need to build complex node setups just to get started. You can still customize your materials and workflow when needed.
Yes! MANI NPR supports your own base color, roughness and normal textures, including UDIM workflows. You can combine your existing textures with the stylized controls in the toolkit.
No. Anime Face Normals adjusts the normals in selected areas to simplify facial shading and reduce unwanted shadows without changing the original geometry. You can recalculate the result using the Active Camera as a reference.
Yes. Masks and Regions let you apply stylization selectively instead of treating the entire character or image the same way. You can also use Grease Pencil Line Art and Inverted Hull outlines for different kinds of linework.
Anime, toon, comic, manga, painterly and graphic NPR looks, or your own combinations. You can mix shading, hatching, halftones, normals, outlines and finishing effects instead of being limited to one visual style.
You'll receive the MANI NPR addon with its required packaged assets, editable look presets, an installation video, and walkthroughs covering shading basics, Suzanne and a character workflow. The tutorials include English subtitles.
